Meet Donny

Donny and his wife, Pam, have been married 39 years and are parents of four adult daughters.  Pam is a former teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.  All their daughters were students in the public school system of Forsyth county and have all gone on to receive college degrees at Universities in North Carolina.

A lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, Donny graduating from Parkland High School, earned his undergraduate degree from High Point University, and his MBA from Wake Forest.  He has been recognized by the Triad Business Journal for each of the last  seven years as one of the region’s most influential leaders.  He also has been named to the All-State School Board and received the prestigious Health Care Hero Award in 2008.       

• Donny has been elected to the Winston-Salem / Forsyth county school board five consecutive times and has served as chairman since 1994.  He resigned on December 31, 2012.
• He retired in 2012 from Wake Forest Baptist Health as president of Lexington Medical Center and Davie Hospital.  In addition, he served in a variety of leadership positions at NC Baptist Hospital including President of the Hospital from 2007 to 2011.
• He is a member of the Board of Directors of Hospice and Palliative Care Center, the March of Dimes, and the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce.
• He also has served on the boards of Forsyth Technical Community College, Salemtowne Retirement Community, North Carolina Hospital Association and Common Visions, the Leadership Advisory Council of the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare, the University Health Consortium, and the Board of
  Visitors of High Point University.
